Create child rebates

The Child rebate type allows you to create a parent/child relationship where the result of a calculation for one rebate is applied to other rebates but with additional conditions. The child automatically takes on the brackets of the parent, and you choose certain entities to be included or excluded. For example, you could use 'alternate bracket' to target a customer on their overall spend but give them a rebate amount based on a certain product or selection of products ('Once the customer spends $10,000 overall, they will receive a 10% rebate on their spend on Product A').

To do this:

  1. Identify the parent rebate you want to use, or set up a new parent rebate. The brackets you set here flow on to any related child rebates.
  2. Create a new rebate.
  3. In the Name & Scope section, select This rule is > ChildNote that the bracket and children tabs are unavailable for this rebate type.
  4. Select the parent rebate.

  • Set inclusions/exclusions as required and save.

View child rebates belonging to a parent

To see a list of all child rebates belonging to a parent, open the parent rebate and expand the Children tab. From there you can select and open individual child rebates.

Deleting parent rebates

Deleting a parent rebate also deletes all associated child rebates. If you select a parent rebate and choose Delete you will get a warning. If you proceed, the deletion can not be undone.
