If you see something in a chart that you want to explore further, you can select and focus on a segment (e.g., a column in a bar chart or wedge in a pie chart).

This isolates that segment, allowing you to dig further into the data, either staying in chart view or switching to grid view. If you switch to grid view, the focused data will stay focussed and this will be reflected on the dimension list. You can clear the selection by resetting or clicking the 'X' next to the dimension.

How focusing on a chart works

  1. Hovering displays information about a segment.




  2. Selecting isolates the segment, causing the other segments to fade out.

     


  3. Focusing removes all other segments. if you switch to grid view the entity will remain focused.

Focus

Focusing removes all other segments. A filter icon appears next to the chart name.

 

After focus, the filter details appear in the dashboard status bar, as shown below. Use the X or Reset to clear.
