An additional row, 'Others', appears underneath the standard 'Total' first row.
The data that displays in the 'Others' row depends on which measures are selected. For example, if Value or Profit are chosen, 'Others' will display a total, but if Margin is chosen, 'Others' will display an average.
Removing 'Others' from view
To turn off, untick Show others. 'Others' cannot be turned off using Reset, but logging off and back on will remove the row.
Examples of use
Using 'Others' to limit the information shown in a chart
Sometimes there is too much data to turn into a meaningful chart. In the screen shot below, rather than attempt to chart all sales reps, just 6 reps have been focused, and 'Others' has been switched on. The percentages in the resulting pie chart remain accurate, and there is no clutter. All unfocused reps are grouped together in the 'Others' wedge.
Using 'Others' to view a total based on information not showing on your screen
In the example below, 5 regions in the UK have been focused on. 'Total' is a sum of these regions. 'Others' is a sum of all the unfocused regions. You can see that in the smaller image on the right, the total local value (circled in red) is the same as the sum of the 'total' and 'others' rows in the main image at left.
