The Manual Entry driver tab is sometimes referred to as the “miscellaneous driver”. You might want to add this driver if you have assumptions that called the miscellaneous driver. It's useful for managing the key reference data common to different parts of your budget or forecast you want to use for assumptions. As these assumptions typically change at various times during the budget , but or forecast period, having them in a separate tab is more manageable, as you don’t want to have to drill down into your budget master worksheet Main tab to find where you have referenced them; you simply want to have this information at hand, in one central location (worksheet tab).Depending on how you prefer to work, you can add multiple Manual Entry driver tabs, one for each assumption, or put all your assumptions on one Manual Entry driver tab..

Enter data and use it in formulas to drive budget or forecast values. When you adjust the data, your changes will flow through to all the driven values. As you progress in the budgeting process and firm up your assumptions, you can adjust that data accordingly and use the updated data when you switch to forecasting mode.

For example, if your vehicle quantity and related costs are likely to fluctuate over the year, you can add a Manual Entry driver tab to drive the Repairs and Maintenance account on your Main tab. As Enter the number of vehicles and the maintenance costs per month, then adjust that data as the number of vehicles and the cost of maintenance and repairs changes change over the year. The driven values in the Maintab will be updated accordingly.

Depending on how you prefer to work, you can add multiple Manual Entry tabs, one for each assumption, you make the adjustments in the Manual Entry driver tab and the driven values in the Main tab will update accordingly.

Click the blue plus button (blue star) next to the Main tab, enter

or put all your assumptions on one tab.
