If you are an administrator with the Configuration permission, you can access the Administration > Configuration page, where you can configure and customize your Phocas site.

The Configuration page contains a number of several settings , organized into sections, each relating to an aspect of Phocas functionality: 

General - The following general settings are available for your site:

Administrator Email Address - The

three tabs. Ensure you click Save to apply your changes to the settings on this page.

General 

  • Password policy: See Set your Phocas site's password policy.

  • Defaults:

    • Administrator email address: This is the email address of the Phocas administrator for your site. On sites without without the forgotten password functionality, this email address is provided so users can contact the Phocas administrator.

    • Application URL - The : This is the web address for where users to connect to your site. When a user is users are first added to Phocas, they will receive this URL in an email. This In some older versions of Phocas, this setting might say External URL in some older versions of Phocas.

    • Default language - The language that is : This is the language used by default throughout your site. If this setting is left blank, the user's location or their own language setting applies. The default language determines the default date format used througout throughout your site.

  • Dashboards > Enable/disable the : The Text Widgets - Enable HTML Content (potentially unsafe) setting (it is disabled by default).  If you enable this setting, you controls whether or not text widgets are allowed on your site. By default, the checkbox isn’t selected, which means that text widgets aren’t allowed. Selecting the checkbox will allow users to add potentially unsafe HTML content to a dashboard via a text widget. Enabling this setting , which might make your site vulnerable.

  • Marketing: See Add a marketing panel to the sign-in screen.

  • Geocoding >: This is your Google Maps Geocoding geocoding API Key - Enter the API key that is applicable to key, which is required for map charts.

  • Health Check - Enable/disable the Health Check report (it is enabled by default). 

  • Single sign-on (SSO) - Enable single sign-on (SSO).

  • Marketing - Add a marketing panel to the sign-in screen.

  • Password policy - Set your Phocas site's password policy.

  • CRM - Link a CRM account to Phocas and/or a filterable dashboard.

Application URL

This is the web address for users to connect to Phocas. When a user is first added to Phocas they will receive this URL in an email.  This may say 'External URL' in some older versions of Phocas.

On the top right of the page are buttons to access other configuration settings:

  • LDAP - : The Send health check setting controls whether or not a health check report is sent. By default, the checkbox is selected, meaning the report is sent. Clear the checkbox if you don't want the reports.

  • CRM: Applicable to the CRM module, these settings add links in CRM entity pages that provide shortcuts to either a Query database and/or a dashboard with that entity focused. For example, open the Sales database with XYZ customer selected.

Connections

Ensure you click Save to apply any changes you make on this page.

Single sign-on

The Allow SSO via SAML setting controls whether or not SSO is allowed for your site. See Enable single sign-on (SSO).
