New Notes button next to Chart button opens the new Notes panel that displays over the top of a worksheet (on the left side), where users can add and view notes in a workbook/worksheet.
Users have the need to include notes with budgets and forecasts and they were using a workaround of writing notes in a Manual Driver tab, which is not the purpose of that tab, not an effective way of communicating. They write notes for reasons such as: If you are a budget owner, you can add notes in the budget or forecast workbooks to give users instructions for completing the budget, info details on how the budget model was built , notes on the work that needs to be done (or was done)
Budget owner can add and edit notes, all users can view them.
Add: Click the Notes button, click Add Note, write or any other useful information. All users who have access to the workbook can view the notes.
Add a note
Click the Notes button in the top right corner of the worksheet.
In the Notes panel, click Add Note.
Write the note and format the text and/or add links
using the text editor
.
Add more notes on new tabs, if required (repeat steps 2 and 3).
Click Close.
Edit a note
In the Notes panel, click the tab of the note you want to edit, edit the note as required, then click Close.
Rename
: Clicka note tab
In the Notes button panel, doubleright-click the header of the note tab then change tab name and click Rename, edit the name as required, then click Close.
Delete
: Clicka note
In the Notes button panel, right-click the header of the note tab then name and click Delete .View: Click the Notes button, click the tab of the note you want to view, > Yes, then click Close.
