Phocas automatically displays a legend to the right of most chart types (barcolumnlineareapie and combo charts). The legend's color coding matches the palette you select for your chart.

What the legend tells you

In the legend below, a group of customers has been focused on and the following properties selected:

  • name
  • suburb
  • postcode (zip).

These properties appear in the legend, as shown with arrows below. 

 

This information also appears when you hover over a chart segment, as shown below.

As well as being able to select an individual chart segment (e.g., a bar, column, wedge, etc), you can also select (and focus) on items in your legend.  

  • Selected items use a solid colored circle and black text (Judy in the example below).
  • Unselected items use a hollow colored circle and gray text.

 

Information displayed in different modes 

The contents of the legend adjust according to the mode selected, as outlined below. If multiple measures are selected, they will also appear in the legend.

The order of items in the chart legend can be changed by sorting the respective columns in grid view.
