The quickest way to change the dates you are viewing in Phocas is to choose from a list of defined periods, set by administrators. Defined periods will contain both a current period and previous period and are usually dynamic, meaning they adjust according to today's date. This is achieved by using offset dates

How to select a defined period

  1. Choose the Time periods button.
  2. Select a defined period from the list (e.g., Calendar YTD).

The data in your grid will update accordingly and the Periods button will display your selection.

Example: Viewing data from a defined period.

In this example we want to see sales rep data for last month. We'll assume 'Last month' is already a defined period.

  1. Choose a database, and select the 'Sales rep' dimension.
  2. Select Periods > Last month and Apply.
The data in the grid updates to display information for sales reps last month. The Periods button changes to 'Last month'.

Seeing what dates are in a period

To check what dates a particular defined period refers to, choose a period (e.g., Period > Last month) and when the grid updates select Period > Custom. The dialog that opens will show the dates that were set for this defined period.
