A pie chart displays the percentage share of a number of variables, e.g., results for different branches within a company or sales to different customers.

Working example

Create a pie chart showing the profit share of each country this month. This example uses a 'Sales' database.

Step 1: Prepare the grid with these selections: 'Country' dimension, Current month and the Profit measure.

Step 2. Choose Chart and select Pie .

The size of each segment of the pie matches the total percentage of each focused item in the current dimension.

The chart displays the profit share of each country this month. The chart can now be saved as a favorite or added to the dashboard (see Add a widget from the grid).

You do not need to display your data as a percentage in the grid. Phocas automatically calculates the percentages when you choose a pie chart.
