Select a chart type
Charts are grouped into clusters. Select a chart type to reveal similar options. E.g., Select the Bar icon to reveal bar, column and combo chart types, as shown below.
Select and focus on a chart segment
If you see something in a chart that you want to explore further, you can select and focus on a segment (e.g., a column in a bar chart or wedge in a pie chart).
This isolates that segment, allowing you to dig further into the data, either staying in chart view or switching to grid view. If you switch to grid view, the focused data will stay focussed and this will be reflected on the dimension list. You can clear the selection by resetting or clicking the 'X' next to the dimension.
How focusing on a chart works
Original chart 1. Hovering displays information about a segment. | Select Fred, Owen and Harry 2. Selecting isolates the segment(s), causing the other segments to fade out. | Focus 3. Focusing removes all other segments. A filter icon appears next to the chart name. |
After focus, the filter details appear in the dashboard status bar, as shown below. Use the X or Reset to clear.

Amount of data displayed
By default, only the first 25 rows are included in a chart. If you have a requirement for additional rows to be displayed, your Phocas consultant can assist with this.
You can also choose to display a sum instead of individual values (see Chart options).
