The filters you see are set when the budget is created. They are based on the dimensions in the underlying database and displayed in order of hierarchy. You can change the default order of budget rows (line items) and the corresponding level of detail to suit your needs.

A dimension is a level in your budget hierarchy and an entity is a value within a dimension. For example, a dimension is Country and the entities are Australia, the UK and the USA.

Reorder budget line items

For example, if you see two dimensions in the filters box, Category and Country, the budget line items are organized into those dimensions, Category first, then Country.

Click and drag the Country filter to before the Category filter to reorder the budget line items, into Country first, then Category.

Filter budget rows

For example, if your Country dimension contains three countries (entities), USA, UK and AUS and you want to focus on the budget for the USA only, click the Country dimension, then select the USA check box.

If you apply a filter here, it’s just for viewing purposes; the whole budget will still be published. This action differs from filtering in the Budget setup: Workbook configuration window when you create a budget, which filters the whole budget and only publishes the filtered data. See Create and publish filtered workbooks.
