Information button

Sometimes you want to review the selections you have made during your analysis and what properties, streams, measures, filters etc are involved. You can see all your current selections and settings via the Information button Image Removed near the search box. This opens a dialog displaying these.

Show all rows

By default Phocas restricts the number of rows shown on the grid, to allow faster viewing. If there are more than 100 rows, Phocas automatically adds more ‘pages’, which you access using the arrows in the footer (as shown below).

You can change this by selecting the Paginate Image Removed  icon, but it may take much longer for the screen to load.

Record count

Record count appears in the bottom right corner of the grid once a dimension has been selected. It displays the number of rows of data on all pages, regardless of how many rows are showing on the screen.

The count is affected by the period and any selections or filters that have been applied.

Switch to chart view

If you prefer to see your summary as a chart select the Chart icon, shown below. Your screen will automatically update to show a simple chart, typically a bar chart. The same information is presented, just in a different format.

In Phocas, when you open an operational database (such as Sales, Purchasing, or Inventory) via your homepage, dashboard, or some other means, it opens in the Analytics module. Analytics has three key elements, as identified by the numbers in the image.

  1. Grid - Displays your data your records and measures. This is where you view and analyze your data to uncover important insights and get answers to your questions. Initially, the grid displays a summary view of the data (aggregation of transactions) in the underlying database. This high-level overview of the data is the starting point for your analysis. As you drill down into the data, the grid updates accordingly.

  2. Dimensions - A list of the types of records you can display in the grid, such as Sales Rep or Product Class. Select a dimension to drill down into the data.

  3. Menus and action buttons - Several menus (each providing a list of options) and action buttons you can use to:
