Right-clicking (or a long-tap on a device) in a cell in most modes presents a shortcut that allows you to perform a quick search of columns in the grid, based on data in that cell. This feature is sometimes referred to by Phocas users as 'filter on column' or 'Advanced search shortcut', although it does not open the advanced search window.
Example of using right-click filter
Here we want to display our customers with sales that approached $20,000, and higher, in July 2014.
- It is useful to sort the month column first.
- Identify the cell you want to use as a starting point (in this example it is $18,708.07). Here we right-click and select Greater than > 18,708.07, as shown below.

The grid will update, filtered by July 2014 and the amount selected, showing at a glance only those customers whose sales for July 2014 were close to the $20,000 mark or higher.
The search rule will appear in the status bar.
Note
Right-click filter is not available in:
- summary view
- transaction mode
- Target % format
- Matrix share mode
- Market mode, or
- on 'Average Value' columns with the Totals as average option selected.
The option to view Transactions via this feature is not available in market modesmode.
