Period stream mode allows you to compare two streams of data side by side, e.g., sales vs. budget, for selected date ranges . It's a bit (like a combination of period mode and stream mode. Period mode and Stream mode). It displays selected current and 'previous; results, along with Variance and percentage variance columns.

Period stream mode is not always enabled, but if it has been enabled for your site you'll see it in the modes menu once you select a dimension.

How the grid appears in this mode

Example

In this example we want to compare sales with budget orders for the last 3 months , for a selection of customers.

  • From the 'Sales' database select 'Ship to' dimension and select customer (in this example, we have selected 10 customers. Focus.
  • Select Period > Last 3 months
  • Select Mode > Period stream, as shown below. An additional button will now appear to the right of the standard Sales standard 'sales' stream button. Select Budget from this button.In this example the additional stream 'orders' has been selected.
