Period stream mode allows you to compare two streams in selected periods, e.g. sales against budget for the last 3 months. This mode is not always enabled, but if it has been enabled for your site it will become available once you select a dimension.

How the grid appears in this mode

The grid displays a column for all active properties in the current dimension, plus a column for current period and previous period. Variance and percentage variance columns are also displayed.

Example

In this example we want to compare sales with budget for the last 3 months, for a selection of customers.

  • From the 'Sales' database select 'Ship to' dimension and select customer (in this example, we have selected 10 customers. Focus.
  • Select Period > Last 3 months. 
  • Select Mode > Period stream, as shown below. An additional button will now appear to the right of the standard Sales stream button. Select Budget from this button.

The grid will update, as shown below, and you can compare sales with budget for each of the 3 months, as well as the totals.
