A stream is a data series from a database, e.g., 'Sales' or 'Budget' in a Sales database. You can view a single data stream using the Stream button, or compare streams in stream mode. Streams may be different in different databases.

View a single data stream
The data in the grid will update accordingly and the stream button will display your selection.
For example: We want to view budgets for all sales reps, using the 'Sales' database. Typically, this will show sales information in the grid. To change to budget data:
- Choose the 'Sales' database and 'Rep' dimension.
- Select Stream > Budget. The grid will update to show budget data.
Compare two streams using stream mode
You can compare two streams of data side by side using stream mode.

You can change the stream both when you are in Summary view and when you select a dimension (filtered view).
Click the Stream menu to view your options, then select a stream from the list (the default stream displays at the top).
The grid instantly updates to display the data from the new stream and the Stream button identifies your selection.
As illustrated above, you can only select one stream at a time. If you want to compare streams side-by-side, use Stream mode.
