Period is the default mode for the grid. It displays data for selected dates, either as a summary or, if you choose, in greater detail.

What you see in period mode
If you haven't selected a dimension (i.e., you are still in summary view), the grid will display the relevant time unit for the selected period as the first column (e.g., if the period is 'Year to date', month will be the first column). Other columns are: current period, current cumulative, previous period, previous cumulative, variance and percentage variance.
Once you select a dimension, period mode changes to display active properties for the chosen dimension, a column for each relevant time unit for the selected period and a total column.
Note about periods
Every database has a default period, which determines what date range displayed when you first select a database. You can change to a different date range using the Period button.

The columns in your grid will update to show daily sales of each branch. If more than one measure is selected, more columns will appear.
