You can filter the summary financial information to analyze on the performance of specific entities in a dimension. You can display the filtered information in two ways:

  • Basic - The filtered information displays in the statement grid. The grid looks the same as usual but the values now relate to the specified entity or group of entities. This is useful when you want to focus on the performance of one entity or a particular group of entities

  • Matrix - The statement grid converts into a matrix format. The original summary information displays in the Total column and beside that are additional columns for the filtered information (entity or group of entities). The values in the total rows, such as gross profit, are at the summary and entity level respectively. This method is useful when you want to compare the performance of entities side-by-side, against the overall performance.

The following examples illustrate how you can filter the Profit and Loss statement to view specific information and use the matrix tool to display filtered information side-by-side.

Info

To remove a filter and return to the high-level summary information, either click the Delete button (blue star) on the dimension or click the Reset button.

  1. Click the Branch dimension. The statement grid converts into a data grid, where you can see a summary performance of each branch.

  2. In the data grid, select the rows of the branches you want to focus on, such as branch 2, 3 and 4  (click the number in the beginning of each row).

  3. Select one of these display methods:

    • Basic: Click the Summary button.

    • Matrix: Click the Matrix button, then click the Summary button.

Tip
